Greetings from Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, host of the 29th biennial 2012 World Championship Cheese Contest®, the world’s premiere technical evaluation and competition for more than 50 years! We invite you to submit your quality cheeses and butters to the contest to compete for prestigious awards.

The World Championship Cheese Contest is the largest, most objective expert evaluation of cheese and butter in the world.  Entries are evaluated by a team of proficient judges selected from nations around the globe. Twenty-four karat gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the finest products in 82 classes.   A Championship Round evaluates the gold medal cheeses from each class to declare a World Champion Cheese, and First and Second Runners Up for the contest.   Please join the global community of dairy manufacturers and compete for medals in this highly-competitive competition.  Thank you and good luck!

Enter your best cheeses and butters!

The World Championship Cheese Contest is hosted by the non-profit Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association with assistance from hundreds of industry volunteers. Since its inception in 1957, the World Championship Cheese Contest has grown rapidly and is now the largest technical evaluation of cheese and butter in the world. The most recent Contest in 2010 drew a record-breaking 2,318 entries from 20 nations.

Every maker of cheese or butter in the world is eligible to compete.  Products must be shipped to arrive no later than February 24, 2012. On March 5 – 7, cheese experts from Europe, North America, Africa, Australia and South America will evaluate products at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Winners will be honored April 12 at a gala Awards Banquet during the International Cheese Technology Exposition in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

Contest results will be posted on this website during the competition.  Cheesemakers and buttermakers around the world will learn of their success as the event takes place.
